So to help those guys out, here’s an easy, step-by-step guide to living out your fantasies in the bedroom.

Step #1. Choose Your Fantasy

What’s it going to be? Is she going to be a stripper performing for her customer? Are you going to be a professor punishing his naughty student? How about directing your very own porn shoot, with your partner in the starring role?

If your partner has never role-played before, pick an easy scenario for your first time. She could play a virgin, with you in the role of the experienced older man who will teach her the art of sex. Or you could always watch "Secretary," the shamelessly erotic film starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader, and act out the roles afterwards.

Step #2. Prepare the Scene

Although it’s possible to play out a fantasy using only your imagination, having props helps. If she’s going to be a stripper, make sure she’s got sky-high stilettos and some seriously hot lingerie.

Throw on a jacket and a pair of glasses for a professorial air, while she dresses as a naughty schoolgirl (pigtails required).

Step #3. Play the Role

Once you’ve agreed on your characters and dressed the part, it’s time to get into character. Remember all those cheesy lines from bad porn movies? It's your turn to say them. You don’t need to be original; you just have to be able to stay in character without cracking up.

If you’re playing the dominant role, you need to set the tone and try to keep from breaking character. Chances are, both of you will find it hard to keep a straight face the first time you do it, but you’ll get into it more as you do it.

Step #4. Let Your Imagination Run Wild

You can develop the role play by getting in touch with your deepest fantasies. Anything you’ve ever seen that turned you on is fair game. Act out a scenario from your favorite porn film, or rewrite history by getting it on with the most popular cheerleader in high school.

For the duration of this fantasy, your partner isn’t the girl you know and love; she’s someone else. The more vividly you can see her as this other person, the easier it will be for her to perform the role. Also, by fantasizing, you’ll experience one of the biggest advantages of role-playing: feeling like you’re sleeping with another girl while remaining faithful to the one you love.
