In the weird and wonderful world of sex, a lot of things might surprise you.

For example, did you know that women in ancient Egypt used to use plugs made of crocodile droppings as a form of birth control?

Did you know that, in comparison with primates, including the massive gorilla, the human male has much larger genitalia?  On average, penises range in size from 8.9 cm when flaccid to 13 – 15 cm when erect.  They’ve got their work cut out for them: men produce 300,000,000 sperm a day, regardless of whether they ejaculate.

Did you know that you’re an exception to the rule if you have sex four or more times a week?  In general, a third of people have sex twice a week, a third have sex a few times a month, and a third have sex a few times a year or not at all.

Did you know that the more educated you are, the more sexual partners you are likely to have over your lifetime?  This is partially due to people putting off marriage until after they’ve completed their education.  Also, having some form of higher education is also associated with being kinkier in bed.  The more educated you are, the more likely you are to practice oral sex.

Did you know that, according to evolutionary psychologist Helen Fisher, human beings are meant to be serial monogamists?  This means that we evolved to have just one partner at a time, but to change partners every four years.  Her data suggests that the “7 Year Itch” may be a myth, with divorce tending to occur after four years of marriage rather than seven.
