There’s something about biking naked through the forest that’s just so … freeing. At least, that’s the explanation they gave a local police officer when she caught the two young men biking in their birthday suits through the Coromandel seaside resort of Whangamata, New Zealand. The naked bikers were lucky to escape a charge of lewd behavior for exposing themselves in public, but policewoman Cathy Duder let them go with a warning to wear a helmet next time. She explained, “It was dark and there was no one else around. They were jovial young men who had not intended to cause offence.” You’d expect a couple of young men on the piss to do something that stupid while drunk, but these young men were completely sober. When Duder caught them, they tried to cover themselves up with their hands. They explained that they were biking in the buff to “experience total freedom.” Someone should have told them that there are better ways to experience freedom that don't involve unprotected genitals against a hard bike seat.
