Like swimming.  Or working.  Or riding a bike.  Or gardening.

The World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) swept through four locations in New Zealand last March, proving that not only is riding a bike sexy, it’s good for the planet.

Promoted as “the world’s largest naked event promoting cycling in the history of humanity,” the WNBR has been going strong since 2004.  Although its main focus is to encourage people to swap cars for bicycles as their primary means of transport, body acceptance is part of the package.

World Naked Gardening Day

If you’d like to participate in a naked event and you missed the WNBR, mark 8 May on your calendar.

That’s the date of the 6th annual World Naked Gardening Day (WNGD).

People are encouraged to get out in nature and do some good for the environment.  Dig your feet deep into the earth and feel the sun against your bare skin.  Enjoy how alive and connected you feel to the natural world around you.

There’s no political message behind the event, simply a desire to raise awareness of our connection to all of nature.

As the official website states:

“Gardening naked … reminds us – even if only for those few sunkissed minutes – that we can be honest with who we are as humans and as part of this planet.”

The WNGD Wiki contains a rather sparse list of clubs/resorts in New Zealand that support nude excursions into nature.
