The porn industry is obsessed with double lives: the mild mannered librarian, the starched nurse, the muscled fire-fighter who throw off the shackles of their jobs and this invariably means getting down and streamy. Well here is where life mimics art.

Ben Garrett was living the real porn fantasy. By day Ben was a teacher, he taught religion, morals and sex education and was even appointed department head. But he spent weekends and school holidays being filmed for hard-core porn movies.

He was busted recently when one of his students stumbled on some photos of Ben on a stripping website. Duh! What did Ben have to say for himself? "It's actually a huge weight off my shoulders. I hadn't realised what a strain it was, leading a secret life."

"One thing my parents always told me was, do anything but never be a teacher," he says. (We’re fairly sure his math teaching parents hadn’t envisaged a career in porn. But who knows)

Garrett, who read politics (Politics - a bit like getting screwed but without having any fun) at university busted out shortly afterwards when he signed up to be a naked waiter at corporate parties. (Butlers in the Buff!)."It was for well-to-do ladies who didn't want a stranger thrusting his crotch in their faces. I was well spoken; I got on well with all of them." ( Aah, do you want sausage with that?)

His "butler" job attracted an invitation to a porn shoot, and Garrett was flattered and excited -- as you would expect any young man to be.

"There was nothing in my moral fibre that said it was wrong. I had an inkling that it could cause trouble but I didn't want to live my life worried about people judging me. Of course, I was thinking with my penis as well as my head."

As teaching started to become too much for Ben and the job not artistically fulfilling enough he started training as a stripper in a cabaret club just down the road from the school he taught at. (Duh!) "There were alarm bells going off in my head - not that it wasn't right but that people might see it. I knew I had already created a risk by doing porn before,” Ben said.

Then just last year, he was again offered porn work, this time for X-rated television channels. He knew that it was only a matter of time before his double life was exposed.

Ben firmly believes that there are transferable skills between stripping, porn and teaching. (Phew! Glad none of my teachers thought the same…Mental health at risk here just thinking about them.)

Ben has since been in trouble in the tabloid newspapers for working in the porn industry without using a condom…And after teaching safe sex. Interesting! There has been an out-pouring of support from Ben’s former students so he must have been doing something right.
