Unlike conventional porn, altporn features girls who wouldn’t be considered “sexy” by mainstream blond-blue-eyed-tanned-big-breasted definitions of beauty. Luckily, companies like the AltPorn Network know that there’s nothing hotter than punk, goth, emo, tattooed, and/or pierced chicks getting it on with other girls, guys, and themselves. History of Altporn Altporn, or “alternative porn,” has only been around since the 1990s, when glossy magazine Blue Blood featured goth and cyberpunk models. But what was then known as “subculture erotica” or “counterculture erotica” didn’t really take off until Blue Blood launched their first online venture, GothicSluts.com, in 1999. RaverPorn.com (now EroticBPM.com) and NakkidNerds.com soon followed. It wasn’t until 2001 that the term “altporn” was even coined (possibly by SuicideGirls CEO Sean Suhl). Bloggers like Violet Blue have debated the use of the term, and altporn remains more political than its “Debbie Does Dallas” brethren.
